Comparison of Body Composition Changes and Non-Contact Musculoskeletal Injuries Among Professional First-Class Cricket Pace Bowlers

چکیده
Background. Pace bowling is the most injury susceptible position in cricket due to repeated high intensity maneuvers. Previous studies on pace bowlers have considered anthropometric, biomechanical, and kinesiological factors for deciphering etiology. Study purpose. The purpose of this study was prospectively investigate association body composition parameters with incidence musculoskeletal injuries among cricket. Materials methods. A total 44 healthy professional male (N=44; Age: 22.89±4.5 years; Height: 176±9 cm; Body weight: 76.34±8.09 kg; BMI: 21.4±3.1) were recruited from various academies. They assessed anthropometrics, composition, aerobic fitness before start Indian season (typically mid-September). Any non-contact sports accounting significant time loss during recorded followed by assessment change status injured non-injured bowlers. Results. We found hamstring as prevalent (05/12). Lower back accounted highest severity 48 matches. Injured underwent higher training volume (hours/day; p=.009) prior incidence, significantly heavier, had greater water. All gained amount fat-free mass (FFM) pre- post-season. Conclusions. Higher workload weight associated more risk Further research accommodating other predictive psychomotor learning must be carried out precisely predict

Total, regional and unilateral body composition of professional English first-class cricket fast bowlers.
There have been few reports of advanced body composition profiles of elite fast bowlers in the sport of cricket. Therefore, the aim of the current study was to determine total, regional and unilateral body composition characteristics of elite English first-class cricket fast bowlers in comparison with matched controls, using dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA). Twelve male fast bowlers and 1...
متن کاملInjury and lumbar reposition sense in cricket pace bowlers in neutral and pace bowling specific body positions.
BACKGROUND AND CONTEXT The cricket pace bowling action consists of a complex sequence of forceful actions, involving practiced, particular movements of the lumbar spine. The nature and repetition of the pace bowling action is known to be associated with a high incidence of low back injuries. PURPOSE This study aimed to establish whether lumbar proprioception (as measured by joint position sen...

Eighty-two high performance young male fast bowlers (mean age 16.8 years) were tested immediately prior to the season for selected kinanthropometric and physiological data. Subjects were also filmed both laterally (200 Hz) and from above (100 Hz) while bowling so that their front foot impacted a force platform during the delivery stride. The players then completed a log book over the ensuing se...

OBJECTIVES This study aimed to establish the difference in lumbo-pelvic movement control, static and dynamic balance at the start and at the end of a cricket season in pace bowlers who sustained an injury during the season and those who did not. DESIGN This is a longitudinal, observational study. METHODS Thirty-two, healthy, injury free, male premier league fast, fast-medium and medium pace...
متن کاملMagnetic resonance imaging of the lumbar spine in asymptomatic professional fast bowlers in cricket.
Low back injuries account for the greatest loss of playing time for professional fast bowlers in cricket. Previous radiological studies have shown a high prevalence of degeneration of the lumbar discs and stress injuries of the pars interarticularis in elite junior fast bowlers. We have examined MRI appearance of the lumbar spines of 36 asymptomatic professional fast bowlers and 17 active contr...
